The Morrison government is being accused of breaking a promise to victims of paedophiles, who say they are unable to receive compensation while their abusers are allowed to keep their cash locked in their superannuation accounts.
In 2018, the then financial services minister Kelly O’Dwyer guaranteed to close a legal loophole that allows offenders to quarantine their superannuation savings from civil compensation payouts to victims.
